JUST ME. :)

Just the Tip of the Iceberg. :)

A lot of people often misjudge me for being a snob. They would often avoid me during the first encounter, some wouldn’t even talk to me at all.

But what they see, what you see, is just the tip of the iceberg.. ;)

I’m not really a snob person. In fact, if I may say with all modesty aside, I know I’m someone who is really easy to be approached, and I know I’m fun to be with. My jokes may be out of season, and sometimes very corny but people can make me laugh so easily. :D

Sometimes even the corniest jokes make me laugh hard. :))

Bottom line? Let’s not judge people with our first impressions because you never know, the person you once regarded as a snob or even boastful, might be your best friend in the future. :D

Hello, Tumblr! :)

Yay! I am updating my Tumblr again. Because I am feeling the need of expressing myself again and keeping myself updated. :) I hope you guys still welcome my posts, and blogs. :D

Hangover from the forum.

Yesterday was an epic experience for me. Before the forum, I was really feeling tired though it was just 7 or 8 in the morning. I was thinking of not attending my morning classes because it was raining and I’m guessing we will not be having P.E. classes, but nonetheless, I still prepared for school. I was not really ready because I was not able to pack my things well. I forgot to bring a pen and paper, and my umbrella. So there, I was on my way to school, when I arrived at the grandstand, they were discussing something about the requirements and all. Then our professor showed us our preliminary grades, then we left. We changed into our uniforms, before we ate our “lunch” (which was ironic because it was just around 8:30am). After that, we went to the TARC Auditorium because that was where the business forum was supposed to be held.

I was wondering why we were chosen to be in that forum when, in fact, we are not business majors. We are journalism majors. It was only inside the auditorium alone that I realized the forum was about responsible journalism. So I guess they were right about choosing us. I was feeling a little awake at that time already, because I was expecting to learn something from the forum. At least I knew going there will be worth it. The speaker introduced the panelists. First I thought the panelists will be professors from the Faculty of Arts and Letters, but when the speaker introduced the panelists, he mentioned big names and people from the media.

The first one was Miss Glenda Gloria. From what I can remember in her introduction, it was mentioned that she works at the ABS-CBN News Channel. She graduated AB Journalism from UST, Faculty of arts and Letters. She said she was news editor of The Flame, and she was a pioneer of the Philippine Daily Inquirer when democracy was granted to the Philippines after the Martial Law regime.

The next panelist was Mr. Jim Libiran. He graduated AB Sociology, also an Artlet. He is a director and he was just so amazing. He shared that when he was in college, they fought for every little thing that they think should be fought for. From the uniforms, up to the food in the canteen. He made documentaries about the EDSA Revolution, and his works are more of the realistic side.

Third panelist was Mr. Bong Osorio. He teaches at the graduate school in UST. He is also part of the management head at ANC. According to him, Thomasians are good at adapting to situations, thus gives them, us, good jobs whenever we apply. His opinions and insights on issues, I must say, are really coming from his professional experience.

The last one, who also came in late, maybe due to some complications, was Mr. Cesar Apolinario. Yes, him. One of the best news anchors in GMA7. He graduated Communication  Arts from UST also, and he studied intro. to film at the University of the Philippines. Aside from being a broadcast journalist, he also writes songs, makes films, and documentaries. From his resume that was read by the moderator, Professor Salvosa, he came from a poor family, but it did not stop him from pursuing his studies and graduating with a degree. Lucky enough, here he is now, bringing us news that he works hard researching for.

A lot of people really do not understand how important news and current affairs is for us. We should know that we must all be aware of what is happening in our country, and if we need to, we must take actions. The panelists were right when they said that we could use social networking in being active and participating to every situation or dilemma that the country is going through. It may not all be about politics, there are a lot more to news than politics alone. So if one hates writing about politics, that’s okay. They could use their social networks for topics that he/she wants to write about.
